You are on the Powder Coating page.                                                                   Above:   Powder being swept up off the garage floor

As a hobby powder coater I appreciate being able to give new life to something old and worn.  However I must admit that I get the most pleasure from transforming pieces (new or old) into unique, one-of-a-kind items that stand out from the crowd.

I began playing with powder coating after a good friend purchased a powder coating kit and naturally I just had to have one too (thanks Josh!).  Since then I've been experimenting with and refining my techniques and equipment to get the best quality coatings I can working out of my garage.

As a perfectionist by nature my motto is "If my names on it, it will be done right".  Well that is true, it can result in a lot of work to get it "just right".  What a pain in the ... when I open the oven door and discover flaws on the piece I'm working on.  I will strip the powder and start from scratch before I'll let anything go out the door that I don't think is as close to perfect as I can get it.  And believe me taking powder coat off is harder and more time consuming than you want to find out about.

Powder coat, unlike paint, can not be mixed to match a specific color (well at least I can't afford to have it formulated in a specific color).  However, the number of available colors is staggering.  Click on the Caswell banner below for available color charts and pricing for powder.

Select the "Powder Coating" tab and the color selections will be on the right side of the page.

Here's my first oven;  yep a rotisserie oven.  Because these things have no thermostat I
added a BBQ thermometer and fan.
Now I promised Cindy I wouldn't get carried away like I normally do with a new hobby.  So I waited a whole two weeks before I built my first oven out of a freezer. Ladies and Gentleman.  Please allow me to introduce to you, the one, the only, "The Ovenator II".  My latest home built oven.

That wasn't my fault.  Michael was here, we were bored, and the oven was already warmed up.
